How Far Along: 22 weeks (pic: 22w2d—look how round my belly is getting!)
Size of Baby as Relative to Common Household Fruit or Vegetable: Papaya
Total Weight Gain: Finally back to pre-pregnancy weight! Woohoo!
Sleep: I still wish for fewer late night potty runs, and my dreams have gotten pretty intense, BUT I’m sleeping really well in general.
What I Miss: Deep breaths when I’m sitting down.
Cravings: Vegetables. Leafy green salads, vegetarian chili, pasta with broccoli and zucchini and
My back and tail bone hurt. My back I think is just because of the weight starting to pull my mid-section forward, but I’m not sure what’s going on with my tail bone. Someone suggested maybe sciatic pain?
Starting to experience shortness of breath when seated. If I want to take a deep breath, I have to stretch my back or stand up. I’ve read people don’t normally experience this until later in pregnancy, but I think it’s because I’m so petite. There’s just nowhere for anything to go.
Baby brain and raging constipation. Neither my brains nor my bowels have been very productive this week.
Emotions: I’m just so ready for her to be here.
Maternity Clothes: I’m starting to get why people talk about burning your maternity clothes when you’re done with them. You don’t realize how much variety you have in your wardrobe until you’ve got nothing but the essentials.
Best Moment This Week: We took a look at daycares this week, and I think we found the place. I really loved it, and it was a huge weight off my shoulders. I want to throw in, I think the worst moment this week was trying to figure out finances after baby gets here. While I’m out on maternity leave, my disability is basically going to just barely cover my bills. I’ll have $100 for the entire rest of the month. I think my husband is going to have to give me an allowance. Yuck! But…it was still great to sit down and really plan for her. It definitely feels real now. We’re going to be parents. We’re going to have a baby. Wow.
