How Far Along: 27 weeks (Pic: 27w4d)
Isla Comparison: I was so much tinier. Everything is way more…flumpy this time.
Size of Baby as Relative to Common Household Fruit or Vegetable: Cabbage
Total Weight Gain: Up 9 lbs.
Sex: Boy
Movement: He’s still doing somersaults in there.
Sleep: Still easily sleeping 8-10 hours/night and by the time the whole family is dressed and ready to go in the mornings, I’m ready to go down for a nap again.
What I Miss: Having energy
Cravings: Fresh baked cookies and chicken nuggets with sriracha ketchup…and chocolate ice cream. All at the same time.
Symptoms: Fatigue, hip and back pain
Maternity Clothes: I have to keep talking myself out of buying new maternity clothes. Not being able to wear my regular clothes stinks!
Preparations: Organized the kids’ closet and put up crown molding in their room. We’ll paint the crown molding this weekend and get the crib put together. We’ve also ordered most of our baby stuff and washed ALL the cloth diapers. A few DIY projects left on the list, and we still need to get a car seat. Other than, we’re basically baby ready. It goes a lot faster the second time around.
Emotions: I’m too pooped for feelings.
PgAL Thoughts: I’m still thinking of my friend who lost her daughter. She would have been one month old today. Please continue sending prayers and good thoughts her family’s direction.
Best Moment(s) This Week: We made this incredible Mediterranean chicken bake last week. It was heavenly. I also had a pretty intimate evening alone with a box of Tiff’s Treats. It’s safe to say that right now, eating is by far my favorite activity because it doesn’t involve moving or having to use my brain. Also everything tastes amazing.
Friday marks the start of my third trimester! Then begins the long, slow waddle to the finish.
