Baking #2: 32 Weeks

How Far Along: 32 weeks (Pic: 32w3d)

Isla Comparison: Here. I’m really grateful this pregnancy has not been nearly as uncomfortable as Isla’s. I remember the rib pain I mention here, and it is a relief not to go through that again.

Size of Baby as Relative to Common Household Fruit or Vegetable: Watermelon

Total Weight Gain: Up 16 lbs.

Sex: Boy

Movement: Lots of big, broad movements. The midwife confirmed he’s head down at my last appointment.

Sleep: Still not sleeping as much I’d like, but trying to get as much as I can.

What I Miss: Being able to walk around my neighborhood without worrying about my bladder.

Cravings: Tom kha soup and sushi

Symptoms: My appetite is dwindling, and I’ve started barfing when I eat too much. Also, incontinence.

Maternity Clothes: I really love my new maternity shorts (I got these Planet Motherhood shorts from Walmart in black and mint). I’ve also ordered Icon incontinence undies. As embarrassing as it is, I’m looking forward to having something cute to wear that takes the fear out of getting more than a few feet from a bathroom.

Preparations: We’re basically done with our baby purchases and classes. Isla has a sibling education class this week at the hospital, and we have the first meeting with our doula soon. I need to start doing my Hypnobabies more religiously, as well.

Emotions: I’ve been enjoying

PgAL Thoughts: This week is the last of my loss EDDs. In some ways, it’s really, really sad to watch another milestone-that-wasn’t come and go. In others, I’m very grateful that at least when this milestone passes, there is hope and joy in the future. Lots of mixed feelings about it, and I’m not sure I can articulate any of them.

Best Moment(s) This Week: We took Isla to the UT campus on Sunday to check out the dinosaur tracks, which are sadly closed for renovation, and the turtle pond. We had such a great time. I’m trying to soak up as much of this family-of-3 goodness as I can before everything changes.
