We are no longer potty training. The change in sitters and routine was just a little too much. Isla was freaking out every time we asked if she wanted to go potty, so we decided after a week of many, many accidents to put her back in diapers.
The good news is, she loves the new sitter and gets along really well with the sitter’s little girl. Her routine may be upset, but she is happy and going with the flow. I think having a playmate will be a positive change for her long-term.
Also, we know now that she can do it. She was using the potty and having minimal accidents for around a month, so we know when she’s ready to try again, she can. She’s still asking to use the potty at night before bath time, too, so it’s nice to still have it as a small part of her routine.
Frustrating setback, but the important thing is that Isla’s healthy, happy and enjoying her new daycare.
