I was going to post about something else today, but it didn’t seem right. All I can think about is the people who were hurt or killed yesterday and their families and friends who are grieving today. An 8-year-old boy was among those lost. His mother and sister were also seriously injured. I’m especially thinking about them and their families. I can’t even begin to imagine what they are going through.
I’m trying not to linger on the horror of this event or the evilness behind it. Instead, I’m focusing on the people who rushed into a dangerous situation to help others. I’m focusing on all of the displays, big and small, of love and courage and support extended from one stranger to another. I’m thinking about how lucky I am to have my family today and am so very grateful.
I don’t know what else to say. My heart is broken. I wish things like this would stop happening.
